Dear NoSCoS friends!
I am again pleased to welcome you all to the 17th congress of the Nordic Spinal Cord Injury Society. As you are aware the meeting has been postponed from this year to 5-7 of May 2022. The reason being the corona virus in the world.
It has been 20 years since the Nordic Medical Society of Paraplegia met in Stockholm, and in May we are going to have the meeting in Solna again — at Quality Hotel Friends — close to Spinalis and Aleris Rehab Station.
It is a historical landmark, particularly for me who was together with Lars Sullivan and Alain Rossier in Mariehamn on Åland in 1987 — during the meeting where the society was constituted. The Nordic Society has been important over time due to the similarities between the Nordic countries. The sharing of medical and social experiences is paramount in order to conduct state-of-the-art medical care for the spinal cord injured. The Nordic meeting has also been open for consumers and for people who work in various institutions representing different occupational categories. This is something that we appreciate and endorse.
One of the key reasons for organizing meetings of this kind is for all professionals, who are dedicated to work with spinal cord injured, to get the chance to hang out together. Colleagues doing pretty much the same in neighboring countries get inspired to start joint projects. These meetings bring the possibility to form networks and platforms that can generate new collaborations and new knowledge.
We are thrilled to welcome you to Stockholm! We would like to make it the best nordic congress ever, and registration and abstract submission is now open on the website.
